Product Information
GENTLE: Most cleaners today use technologies that were developed almost 100 years ago. In fact, many common deep-cleaning formulas still rely on harmful, petroleum-based chemicals. Dirty Labs is different. Consciously formulated with nontoxic, biobased ingredients, our formulas are safe for sensitive skin and all clothing types. Dirty Labs is cruelty-free, vegan, hypoallergenic, and safe for babies and pets.

EFFECTIVE: For us, dirty-free cleaning is not just about clean ingredients. We formulate to get the job done, and we put our products through rigorous testing to ensure they’re strong enough for those who like to get really dirty. Phytolase, our advanced enzyme cleaning technology targets stains and odors at their source while being extra gentle for you, your clothes, and the planet. But don't just take our word for it see what our customers are saying.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY: At Dirty Labs - Less is More. By creating hyper-concentrated formulas, we greatly reduce our package sizes (and thus, our carbon footprint). Our bottles are made of aluminum and can be infinitely recycled. Our ingredients are responsibly sourced and created through biorenewable manufacturing processes. We examine every aspect of our product life cycles in order to achieve the safest, most sustainable solutions.

DIRECTIONS: Follow your garment care label and washing machine instructions. Measure with teaspoon or Dirty Labs silicone beaker (available separately, or with all 32 load bottles). For tough stains, pretreat directly to soil area and allow to sit for 5 minutes before washing. Our detergent is hyper-concentrated use as follows: 8ml for medium loads, 12ml for large loads, 16 ml for x-large loads.

SPECS: 21.6 fl oz = 80 loads. Signature Scent (Magnolia, Bergamot, & Cedar). Compatible with traditional and HE washers. Optimized for cold water. Frequently Asked Questions

Will the aluminum bottle look at home in a clean, minimalist laundry closet?

Yes. The infinitely recyclable aluminum bottle has a refined, matte finish and simple typography that complements uncluttered, neutral-toned interiors rather than competing with them.

Does the hyper-concentrated formula support a 'less is more' lifestyle?

Absolutely. One 21.6 fl oz bottle delivers 80 loads, which means less packaging waste, less frequent repurchasing, and a more streamlined laundry routine overall.

Can I store it in a small under-sink cabinet or compact laundry nook?

Yes. The bottle is slim and lightweight, designed for small-space storage, fitting easily under sinks, in narrow closets, or on compact shelving.

Is the Free & Clear variant the right choice if I want a completely neutral home aesthetic?

Yes. Free & Clear contains zero added fragrance, which keeps your laundry space and home free of competing scents, supporting a calm, neutral environment.

Will the visible bottle disrupt my minimalist countertop or shelf display?

Most minimalist customers actually prefer to keep the bottle visible because the aluminum design functions as decor. It pairs well with neutral ceramics, wood, and stone surfaces.

I'm trying to reduce plastic in my home. Does this support that goal?

Yes. The infinitely recyclable aluminum bottle replaces conventional plastic jugs, helping you eliminate single-use plastic from your laundry routine and supporting a zero-waste lifestyle.

How does this compare to bulky mainstream detergent jugs in a small apartment?

It is dramatically more space-efficient. The slim aluminum bottle takes up a fraction of the footprint of a 100 fl oz plastic jug, and the concentrate means you replace it far less often.

I prefer a single, intentional product over multiple specialty detergents. Does this replace several?

Yes. The core formula handles daily family laundry, and the optional Handwash & Delicates variant covers delicates, so you can replace your regular detergent, delicate wash, and even some specialty cleaners with one trusted system.

Will switching to this create more decisions in my routine?

No, it simplifies it. Pick one variant that matches your scent preference, measure with the cap, and you are done. The cold-water optimization also removes the need to sort by temperature.

I'm hesitant to add another product to my home. Is it truly worth the swap?

Most minimalist-minded customers find that this single bottle replaces two or three conventional products while reducing waste and visual clutter, ultimately making their space simpler, not more crowded.

Does the brand philosophy match a minimalist, intentional-living ethos?

Yes. Dirty Labs focuses on fewer, better ingredients, recyclable materials, and multifunctional performance, which aligns directly with intentional consumption and a 'buy once, buy well' approach.

Will the cap or pump mechanism look bulky or out of place in a designed space?

No. The bottle uses a clean, integrated cap design with no extra pumps or sprayers, keeping the silhouette minimal and the surface area uncluttered.

I'm worried about the upfront cost compared to budget brands. Is it worth it long-term?

Yes. The hyper-concentrated formula delivers 80 loads per bottle, which is a far lower cost per load than most premium detergents, and the recyclable aluminum bottle eliminates recurring plastic purchases.

How much detergent should I use per load?

For a standard load, use the amount indicated on the bottle's cap, typically one capful for normal soil and slightly more for heavily soiled laundry. The hyper-concentrated 21.6 fl oz formula is designed to deliver up to 80 loads per bottle, so a little goes a long way.

Can I use this detergent in cold water?

Yes. The formula is specifically optimized for cold-water washing, which saves energy and is gentler on fabrics. The proprietary Phytolase enzyme technology remains effective at lower temperatures.

How do I pre-treat tough stains with this detergent?

Apply a small amount of the concentrate directly to the stain, gently rub it in, and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes before washing. For set-in stains, repeat as needed before laundering on your usual cycle.

Is this detergent compatible with high-efficiency (HE) washing machines?

Yes. The low-sudsing, hyper-concentrated formula is fully compatible with both HE and standard washing machines and will not cause excess foam or residue buildup.

Can I use this detergent on pet bedding, blankets, and throw covers?

Yes. The nontoxic, hypoallergenic formula is safe for pet bedding, blankets, and throws, and the enzyme technology is particularly effective at removing pet odors and organic stains.

What is included in the box when I order this product?

Each order includes one 21.6 fl oz hyper-concentrated aluminum bottle of the selected scent variant, which delivers up to 80 loads. No additional accessories are required, and the bottle is ready to use immediately.

Is this detergent safe for people with allergies or chemical sensitivities?

Yes. The Free & Clear variant is hypoallergenic and free of sulfates, dyes, parabens, fragrance, and CA Prop.65 chemicals. The formula is also EPA Safer Choice certified and 97% USDA Biobased, making it a trusted choice for allergy-prone households.

Will the formula leave residue on clothes that could irritate skin?

No. The formula is engineered to rinse completely clean, leaving no soap film, dye, or synthetic fragrance on fabrics, which is especially important for underwear, baby clothes, and bed linens.

What is the difference between liquid laundry detergent and laundry pods or powder?

Liquid detergent like Dirty Labs Bio-Liquid dissolves fully in any water temperature, allows for easy pre-treating of stains, and delivers enzyme-based cleaning with precise dosing. Pods offer convenience but often contain higher water-soluble plastic and fixed doses, while powders can sometimes leave residue in cold water and offer less stain pre-treatment flexibility.
