How to Use

Wet skin with lukewarm water. Massage dime-size amount of Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser into skin in a gentle circular motion. Rinse.

Excessive drying of the skin may occur. Start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor

If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day

If going outside, apply sunscreen after using this product. If irritation or sensitivity develops, stop use of both products or ask a doctor

Acne Foaming Cleanser is formulated without fragrance and is non-comedogenic. It is suitable for acne prone skin types

4% Benzoyl Peroxide, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Ceramides

4% Benzoyl Peroxide helps to clear and treat acne by cleansing skin's surface of excess oil & impurities while penetrating deep into pores to treat active breakouts. Clear skin of whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, pimples, and pustules.

Hyaluronic Acid helps retain skin’s natural moisture.

Niacinamide helps calm the skin.

Ceramides are naturally found in your skin and play a vital role in helping your skin protect you. They help fill in the gaps between your skin cells so your skin can seal in moisture and seal out impurities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this cleanser replace multiple products on my shelf?

Yes, it combines an acne treatment, a hydrating cleanser, and a barrier-supporting step in one bottle. You can typically remove a separate acne wash, hydrating cleanser, or barrier serum from your routine, leaving you with a cleaner, more minimal lineup.

Is the packaging simple enough for a clean, neutral bathroom aesthetic?

CeraVe uses straightforward white and minimal-label packaging that blends easily into neutral, minimalist vanities. The bottle is functional and uncluttered, so it does not interrupt a calm, intentional space.

Can I build a 3-step routine around this cleanser?

A simple routine with this cleanser, a targeted serum if needed, and a moisturizer is usually enough for acne-prone skin. During the day, add sunscreen as the final step for a complete, minimal AM/PM regimen.

Will this single product cover acne and hydration so I do not need a second cleanser?

Yes, that is one of its main design strengths. The 4% benzoyl peroxide treats breakouts while hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides keep the skin hydrated, so most users do not need a separate gentle cleanser.

Is the formula free from unnecessary additives that clutter an ingredient list?

The formula is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, and built around a focused list of purposeful ingredients. There are no added perfumes or unnecessary fillers, which suits a less-is-more skincare philosophy.

I want a clean routine with fewer bottles, is this a good anchor product?

Yes, it functions as the acne-treatment and hydrating-cleanser anchor of a streamlined routine. From there, you typically only need a moisturizer and sunscreen to complete a minimal but effective lineup.

Will this product fit a low-waste or intentional-shopping lifestyle?

Because one bottle replaces several products, you end up buying and discarding less packaging. Buying only what you truly need aligns well with a minimalist, intentional approach to consumption.

How does this compare to buying a separate acne wash and a hydrating cleanser?

Buying two separate products usually means two ingredient lists, more shelf clutter, and a higher total cost. This cleanser delivers both functions in one bottle with a single, well-curated formula.

Is this a better minimalist choice than a 10-step K-beauty routine for acne?

For someone who values simplicity, a targeted, multi-functional cleanser like this can be more aligned with your philosophy. You still get effective acne care and hydration without the time, cost, and shelf space of a layered routine.

How is this different from a plain gentle cleanser that does not treat acne?

A plain gentle cleanser cleanses but does not treat existing breakouts or prevent new ones. This product actively treats acne with 4% benzoyl peroxide while still being gentle and hydrating, so you do not have to choose between a treatment and a mild cleanser.

What if I prefer a bar soap or a no-frills format?

This foaming cream comes in a pump or tube bottle designed for easy, mess-free use at the sink or in the shower. The format is straightforward and travel-friendly, with no extra accessories required.

I worry one product cannot really do it all, am I over-simplifying?

The formula was designed to treat acne and hydrate simultaneously, which is unusual for a benzoyl peroxide wash. For many people with mild to moderate acne, one well-formulated cleanser really is enough to start seeing clearer, more comfortable skin.

Will the white tube clash with a darker, moody bathroom palette?

The clean white packaging stands out as a deliberate, simple accent in a darker space rather than clashing. Most minimalist interiors treat a few white bottles as visual rest points, which keeps the overall look intentional.

How do I use CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser in my routine?

Wet your face with lukewarm water, apply a small amount to your fingertips, and gently massage into the skin for 30 to 60 seconds. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Follow with a moisturizer, and use sunscreen during the day.

How often should I use this cleanser each day?

Most people use it once or twice daily, in the morning and evening. If you are new to benzoyl peroxide, start with once a day for the first week and increase to twice daily as your skin adjusts.

Can I leave it on as a short-contact treatment?

It is designed to be rinsed off as a cleanser. If you want a leave-on benzoyl peroxide treatment, consider a CeraVe Acne Treatment product in addition to this wash. Always follow the directions on the package unless your dermatologist has given different instructions.

Is this cleanser compatible with retinol, vitamin C, or exfoliating acids?

It can be used alongside most skincare ingredients, including retinol and vitamin C. If you also use exfoliating acids like salicylic acid or glycolic acid, introduce them slowly to avoid irritation, and consider alternating them on different days.

Is this product compatible with moisturizers and sunscreen?

Yes, it layers well with most moisturizers and broad-spectrum sunscreens. Apply the cleanser first, then follow with your preferred moisturizer and SPF during the day.

What is included when I order this product?

You will receive one bottle or tube of CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser with 4% benzoyl peroxide. No additional accessories are required, and you can start using it right away. You may want to purchase a gentle moisturizer and sunscreen separately if you do not already own them.

Are there any safety or reliability concerns I should know about?

Benzoyl peroxide can bleach colored fabrics, so rinse hands after use and be careful around towels and clothing. Avoid the eye area, and discontinue use if you experience severe irritation, burning, or allergic reaction. For external use only.

How should I store this cleanser?

Store it at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, with the cap closed. Benzoyl peroxide can degrade with heat and sun exposure, so a bathroom cabinet or vanity drawer is ideal.

What is the difference between a benzoyl peroxide cleanser and a salicylic acid cleanser?

Benzoyl peroxide works by reducing acne-causing bacteria on the skin, while salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid that unclogs pores and exfoliates inside the pore lining. Benzoyl peroxide is often preferred for inflammatory breakouts, while salicylic acid is commonly used for blackheads and whiteheads. Some routines combine both, but starting with one is usually best to see how your skin responds.
