Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Fresh Scent help keep my home office kitchenette smelling neutral during long work sessions?
Yes. The Fresh Scent material is built into the bag itself, so it continuously masks food odors from scraps and leftovers between trips to the outdoor bin, helping your workspace stay distraction-free.
Can I set up Alexa to reorder these automatically so I never run out midweek?
Yes. Amazon Basics trash bags are enrolled in the Alexa voice-shopping reordering flow, so a simple command like 'Alexa, reorder trash bags' places the restock without you leaving your desk.
Will the 120 count bulk pack last through a full work-from-home month?
For a single-person home office kitchenette, a 120 count pack typically covers several weeks of daily scrap and waste disposal, with fewer reorder interruptions to your workflow.
Does the drawstring closure make it fast to swap bags between deep-focus blocks?
Yes. The drawstring lets you cinch, lift, and tie in one motion, so a quick bin change between Pomodoro sessions does not break your concentration.
Are these bags quiet to open so they do not disrupt video calls or recordings?
The Flextra polyethylene is flexible rather than crinkly, so opening a fresh bag produces minimal noise compared to stiff premium films.
Is this a smart bulk option for property managers automating restocks across units?
Yes. The 90 or 120 count bulk packs combined with Alexa reordering let you maintain consistent supply across multiple rental or office kitchens without manual inventory tracking.
Will the Fresh Scent clash with a diffuser or essential oil setup in my office?
No. The Fresh Scent is light and neutral, designed to neutralize food odors rather than dominate the room, so it layers cleanly with existing ambient scents.
Can I keep a fresh pack tucked in a kitchen drawer without it taking up space?
Yes. The flat-fold pack design slides easily into a standard kitchen drawer or under-sink organizer, keeping the workstation visually clear.
Does the bag stay in place inside the can so I am not readjusting it daily?
The 13 gallon size is matched to standard tall kitchen cans, and the Flextra material holds the rim securely when the drawstring is engaged.
Is this better than basic store-brand bags for reducing mental load around chores?
Yes. Combining puncture resistance, drawstring closure, and Alexa reordering removes the most common sources of kitchen chore friction, which is what busy smart-home users value.
How does Flextra strength compare to standard thin kitchen bags?
Flextra polyethylene is engineered to resist mid-lift tears and punctures from food scraps, which is a meaningful upgrade over thin commodity bags that split under wet or sharp loads.
Is the 13 gallon size compatible with my existing tall kitchen trash can?
Yes. 13 gallon is the standard size for most tall kitchen trash cans sold in the US, including step and touchless models.
How do these compare to compostable liners for a productivity-focused routine?
Compostable liners often require double-bagging wet waste and degrade faster, which can disrupt a low-maintenance workflow. Amazon Basics Flextra bags prioritize consistent strength and odor control for daily kitchen use.
Will I really notice the Fresh Scent, or is it just marketing?
Customers typically report a noticeable but mild scent that activates when the bag is closed around food waste, which is enough to neutralize lingering cooking smells in a small kitchenette.
Is the 90 count a smarter value than 50 if I reorder on a schedule?
If your household finishes a 50 count in under two weeks, the 90 or 120 count offers a lower per-bag cost and fewer reorder events, which pairs well with Alexa automation.
What if my smart speaker is not Amazon Echo—can I still get voice reordering?
Alexa voice reordering requires an Alexa-enabled device. If you use Google Assistant or Siri, you would need to place restocks manually through the Amazon app.
How do I load a 13 gallon Amazon Basics Flextra bag into my kitchen trash can?
Open the bag fully, drape it over the rim of the can, and press the edges against the inside walls. The 13 gallon size is matched to standard tall kitchen cans, so it should sit flush with little overhang.
How do I tie and remove the bag without spills?
Pull the drawstring firmly to cinch the top closed, lift straight up by the gathered plastic, and tie a quick knot. The drawstring closure is designed to make lift-and-tie clean and contained.
How do I enroll these bags in Alexa voice reordering?
Open the Amazon app, link the product to your Alexa account, and enable voice purchasing. Once enrolled, you can reorder by saying 'Alexa, reorder trash bags' when supplies run low.
Will these bags fit my 13 gallon simple-human or touchless step can?
Yes. 13 gallon is the standard size used across most major kitchen trash can brands, including simplehuman, iTouchless, and basic step cans.
Are these bags compatible with compost caddies as a liner?
Yes, the 13 gallon bags can be trimmed or used as a liner inside a smaller compost caddy, though they are not certified compostable. Many customers use them to keep the caddy clean.
What is included in the box when I order a pack?
Each box contains a single sealed sleeve of 50, 90, or 120 Flextra strength 13 gallon drawstring trash bags in the Fresh Scent variant. No additional components are included.
Are these bags safe to use for pet waste or cat litter disposal?
Yes. The Flextra material is strong enough for pet waste and clumping cat litter, and the Fresh Scent helps control odor between bin changes. Double-bagging is recommended for very heavy wet loads.
What should I do if a bag tears before I lift it out of the can?
Pull on the Flextra material to confirm whether the tear spreads, and if it does, double-bag the next load. Contact Amazon customer support if you experience repeated failures, as the bags are warrantied against defects.
What is the difference between Amazon Basics Flextra trash bags and regular Amazon Basics trash bags?
Flextra is a stronger, more puncture resistant polyethylene blend designed for kitchen and household loads that include wet food scraps. Standard Amazon Basics bags are thinner and intended for lighter dry waste.
